Privacy
The waitlist, plainly.
This page covers the Meld Mail waitlist on meldmail.net and nothing else. You give us your email address, we send you one email when Meld Mail is ready, and then the list is gone.
What we store
- Your email address.
- When you joined, and how you found the page: the campaign tags in the link you followed (utm tags), or otherwise just the path you landed on, such as /. Never the full address of the page you came from.
- What you agreed to, word for word: We’ll email you when Meld Mail is ready. Nothing else. Unsubscribe any time.
- A random code for your unsubscribe link.
- A scrambled fingerprint of your connection: a salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address or, for IPv6, of its first 48 bits (the part that belongs to your home, office or server connection). Your IP address itself is never stored. The fingerprint is used to limit how many addresses one connection can sign up and, before the launch email goes out, to spot a batch of addresses that came from one connection, so a list stuffed with other people’s addresses can be cleaned up.
- Whether you signed up on a phone, tablet or computer. Not your browser, your device or anything else about it.
Who can join
The waitlist is for people aged 13 or older.
Why
To send you one email when Meld Mail is ready. That is the only thing your address is used for. It is not added to a newsletter, not used for advertising, and never sold or shared.
The page itself uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts.
Where it lives
In a database on Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1, in North America), the same service that hosts this site. When Meld Mail is ready, the launch email is sent through an email delivery service, Resend, which receives your address only to deliver that one message.
How long
Until launch and the launch email. Once that email has gone out, the list is deleted, fingerprints and all. If you remove your address or unsubscribe first, it is deleted straight away, together with its fingerprint. If Meld Mail has not launched by 31 March 2027, the list is deleted then.
For the sign-up limit, a fingerprint of the same kind is also kept next to a count of that day’s attempts from the connection (removals are counted apart, under a differently salted fingerprint). Counts from earlier days (UTC) are deleted the next time anyone signs up, removes an address or unsubscribes, and whatever is left is deleted with the list.
Removing your email
Enter your address and it is deleted from the list straight away. You will see the same message whether or not it was on the list, so nobody can use this to find out who has signed up.
The launch email also has an unsubscribe link. One click deletes your address for good.
